Ingredients

Detailed Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Set your broiler to heat up.

  2. 2

Combine the ground beef, sausage, and onions in a deep, large pan. Sauté over medium-high heat until the meat is fully browned and the onions have softened. Drain off the excess fat.

  3. 3

Incorporate the processed cheese, oregano, and Worcestershire sauce. Continue stirring until the cheese is completely melted and combined.

  4. 4

If the bread isn't pre-sliced, cut it into small, thin pieces. Distribute about a tablespoon of the meat mixture onto each slice, arranging them in a single row on a baking sheet.

  5. 5

Place the tray under the broiler for about 10 minutes, or until the bread is nicely toasted and the cheese has turned golden brown.

Great recipe, though the description could use an update—what is that 'especially men' thing from the 1950s? LOL.

We've made these for YEARS, but we skip the onions. They are tasty dipped in a bit of horseradish sauce, like a mix of sour cream and horseradish, or Ranch dressing.
