Combine the ground beef, sausage, and onions in a deep, large pan. Sauté over medium-high heat until the meat is fully browned and the onions have softened. Drain off the excess fat.
Great recipe, though the description could use an update—what is that 'especially men' thing from the 1950s? LOL.
We've made these for YEARS, but we skip the onions. They are tasty dipped in a bit of horseradish sauce, like a mix of sour cream and horseradish, or Ranch dressing.
I found them quite enjoyable.
