In the meantime, mix the barbecue sauce, brown sugar, cranberry sauce, and lemon juice inside a large pot; stir while heating over low heat until the mixture is uniform. Drop in the meatballs and let them simmer for an hour. Serve while hot.

I had more than two pounds of meat on hand, so I incorporated some blackberry jelly into the cranberry sauce and increased the lemon juice slightly. It was incredibly tasty, and my family is already asking for it again.
